Fire cuts cost lives

Our Fire Service in Crisis

The Napthine Government has taken significant regressive action in attacking firefighters and the community’s protection, including:

  • 66 million dollar budget cuts
  • Failure to recruit and train appropriate numbers of fire fighters
  • Attacking firefighters' conditions of employment
  • Refusing to acknowledge the link between firefighting and certain types of cancer

We need our Fire fighters, you can’t cut costs on such an important part of our essential services. You have seen the results of horrendous fires in country areas and you know what an important role our CFA make in saving lives and property.

How many millions of Victorian tax payer dollars have been spent attacking firefighters and terminating their employment conditions? What a disgrace the Napthine Governemnt has become. So much for improved fire services and what happens to the “Fire Levy”?
